Ivan Petrovitch Pranishnikoff a Russian painter
and illustrator, after wandering across Europe and North America, came
to settle at Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer in Camargue.
Even though Michel
Gay's work claims to be a biography of Ivan Pranishnikoff, it leaves
many blanks, and I haven't always been able to check accuracy of the fact
presented in it. The other sources I borrowed were the testimonies
of his provençal contemporaries. I therefor beg to be forgiven if
some of the information given in this paper is open to question.
